Air Astana is expanding its flight connections to India and offering direct flights between Almaty and Mumbai from April 20, 2025. This new route reflects the growth in traffic between Kazakhstan and India, benefiting both business and leisure travelers.
New direct connection to Mumbai
Kazakh airline Air Astana announces that it will offer a new direct route between Almaty and Mumbai from April 20, 2025. This route is operated three times a week, on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with modern Airbus aircraft. Flight times are designed to be optimal for business travelers, departing Almaty at 4:30 a.m. and arriving in Mumbai at 9:55 a.m. local time. The return flight departs from Mumbai at 11 a.m. and reaches Almaty at 2:45 p.m.
Growth of the Indian market
Peter Foster, CEO of Air Astana, explains that India, as one of the world’s largest economies, offers important growth opportunities for the airline. Air Astana has been operating in India since 2004 and has continuously increased its flight frequencies, underlining India’s important role in the airline’s route network.
