Environmentally conscious ferry flight
The newly delivered Boeing 787-9 with Premium Economy Class completed its ferry flight to Taiwan with 30 percent use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This step led to the saving of around 63,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide, which underlines the airline’s environmental responsibility. EVA AIR is setting an example for sustainable flying.
Special features of the new Premium Economy Class
The new Premium Economy Class offers 28 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration. Seating comfort is increased by a cradle tilt mechanism that creates an optimized seating position. Travelers benefit from 15.6-inch widescreen monitors and a multifunctional entertainment system. Combined 110V sockets and USB ports also ensure passenger comfort.
Expanded flight routes and passenger comfort
The Boeing 787-9 with the new equipment will initially be used on the route from Taiwan to Jakarta and later on European and US flights, including to Munich and San Francisco. The kits are available in stylish olive green and beige and feature an outdoor design with a removable strap. The contents include lotion and lip balm from HUNTER, which are intended to offer passengers a refreshing care experience during long flights.
Commitment to sustainability and comfort

Expansion of the fleet
EVA AIR plans to expand its fleet by 2029 with new Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 aircraft, offered in two- and three-class configurations. In addition, the introduction of 18 Airbus A350-1000 long-haul aircraft is planned from 2027 and 15 Airbus A321neo from 2029. These extensions are intended to offer customers even more convenience and choice.
