KLM integrates safer luggage tracking via Apple AirTag

KLM Royal Dutch has introduced an innovative feature that allows to privately and securely share the location of their AirTags or Find My network accessories with KLM customer service. This feature is intended to help speed up the process of locating lost or delayed baggage, further improving the customer experience.

New function for quick luggage location

KLM Royal Dutch now have the opportunity to locate lost or delayed bags more quickly using the new ‘Share Item Location’ feature. This allows travelers to securely share the location of their AirTag or Find My network accessory with customer service. KLM facilitates the integration of this feature by simply integrating it into the existing lost baggage reporting procedures.

Security and privacy first

Protecting customers’ privacy and data security is very important to KLM. For this reason, location sharing will automatically stop as soon as the luggage has been found. Customers can unshare at any time and it will automatically end after seven days. The service is based on the Apple Find My network, powered by a crowdsourced network of over one billion Apple devices.
