As part of its search for a strategic partner for the passenger services of its wholly-owned subsidiary, aerogate München Gesellschaft für Luftverkehrsabfertigungen mbH (aerogate), Munich Airport (FMG) has decided to sell the handling company to the AXS Group. A share transfer agreement was signed on Thursday. aerogate has been responsible for passenger and baggage handling processes at Munich Airport since 1992. This means that airlines commission aerogate for services such as check-in and passenger assistance.
Effective April 1, the AXS Group, through its subsidiary AHS Aviation Handling Services GmbH, will acquire 100 percent of aerogate’s shares. FMG and the AXS Group are very confident that the sale will create a long-term partnership between the two companies at Munich Airport. This will ensure aerogate’s premium passenger services continue to be offered to airlines as usual.
The sale of aerogate will have no impact on aerogate’s contracts; both customer and employment contracts will remain unchanged, with all rights and obligations.
The AXS Group is a Swiss corporate group consisting of AAS Airline Assistance Switzerland (ground handling), AHS Aviation Handling Services GmbH (passenger handling), aastechnics (cleaning, catering, and technical services), didit (IT services), shair (human resources management), and aero point (aviation consulting). The AXS Group has already proven itself to be a reliable partner, operating at the highest levels of quality and cost-effectiveness, in the context of the sale of Aeroground Berlin and Hamburg.
