ver.di gains new strength through the integration of TGL

ver.di announced that from July 1, 2025, the Aviation Technology Union will become part of the United Services Union. The integration of TGL is intended to consolidate ver.di’s central role as the main representative for all employees in aviation, from ground staff to technicians. Ver.di federal specialist group leader Dennis Dacke explained that this expansion strengthens the determination to achieve better working conditions in the aviation industry.

Unified effort for better conditions

Daniel Wollenberg from the TGL said that the former members of the TGL were ready to actively shape ver.di’s transparent collective bargaining work. The merger of the two organizations makes it possible to bring in common experiences in order to sustainably optimize working conditions and pay in the industry.

Creation of the MRO Alliance

The integration creates a new structure within ver.di: the MRO Alliance, a specialized unit that deals with the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft. This should become the central representation for employees in this area. Dacke emphasizes that this unit aims to expand professional perspectives and create a community of solidarity among maintenance workers.

Successful culture and innovative structures

The founding of the MRO Alliance follows the Aircrew Alliance, which was successfully established in 2019, and combines professional expertise with tariff expertise. ver.di sees this development as a consistent continuation of its strategic focus to improve working conditions in the long term and create new opportunities for employees in aviation.

As one of the largest service unions in , ver.di aims to improve working conditions for millions of employees. With a strong focus on transparency and participation in collective bargaining, ver.di is committed to creating and maintaining and sustainable working conditions in various industries.
