Pilatus reports an exceptionally good 2024 financial year with sales of 1.633 billion Swiss francs. Despite global challenges, 153 aircraft were delivered. The Canadian Air Force and the Netherlands secured major contracts, while the commercially successful PC-24 jet gained a foothold in new markets.
Successful financial year 2024
Pilatus highlights that 2024 was a great success despite challenging market conditions. With an increase in sales of over ten percent compared to the previous year and the sale of a total of 153 aircraft, the company was able to further consolidate its market position. Particularly notable are the sales of 96 PC-12 NGX, 51 PC-24 and 6 PC-21. This reflects continued high demand in both business and government aviation.
Important contract conclusions
In the Government Aviation division it is reported that Pilatus has sold 19 PC-21s including simulators to the Canadian Air Force. The Netherlands also opted for eight PC-7 MKX, which underlines the company’s position as a provider of state-of-the-art basic trainers. These orders are intended to highlight Pilatus’ importance in military aviation and demonstrate its innovative strength.
Innovations in business aviation
The PC-24 Super Versatile Jet is off to a successful start in business aviation, especially in the USA, where it is considered one of the most frequently flown business aircraft. There Pilatus highlights the success of his ‘World’s Greatest Single’, the PC-12. The further development of the aircraft in terms of payload and range should further arouse the interest of business travelers and increase Pilatus’ market share.
Sustainability and business growth
Pilatus established a new Corporate Sustainability department to emphasize its commitment to sustainability and focus on technological innovation. This includes investments in Synhelion for CO₂-neutral kerosene. The company also relies on vertical integration to address production bottlenecks and is positioning itself for the future with the acquisition of Epps in Atlanta and the opening of a new center in Florida. These moves are intended not only to improve production capacity, but also to consolidate Pilatus’ presence in the US market.
